Job Type: Full Time 

Schedule: Monday - Thursday, with occasional Fridays required during high volume periods. 

Shifts Needed: Regular Day Shift, Swing Shift 

Duties & Responsibilities

  •  Service and repair equipment on a continual basis. 
  • Ensure preventative maintenance tasks are completed on a scheduled basis and data recorded in an accurate and timely manner; inspects belts, checks fluid levels, replaces filters, greases bearings, seals, etc.; repairs or replaces broken parts.
  • Install and/or replace machine parts following procedures with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain safe performance of tasks following all policies and procedures. 
  • Maintain equipment to ensure line efficiencies, improve key performance indicators and to eliminate down time.
  • Perform production line set up of equipment. 
  • Calibrates and repairs pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems and electrical systems.
  • Responds to emergency maintenance requests as required. Including all shifts. 
  • Maintains records of scheduled maintenance procedures.
  • May obtain estimates for supplies, repair parts; orders parts as needed. 
  • Scheduled and maintains current calibrations for all measurement equipment used in the manufacturing facilities using maintenance software.
  • Maintains maintenance shop, keeping it clean and organized. 
  • Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings including plaster repair, drywall, painting.
  • Additional facility or equipment maintenance functions as directed.
  • Production line processing adjustments to production quality standards.
  • Work with the CTB (Change the Business) Team to make improvements to all areas of production.

Skills & Abilities 

  • Comfortable working with and around manufacturing equipment and ability to perform all aspects of service/repair requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, equipment manual and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Working knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
  • General understanding of machinery and mechanics is required. Strong attention to detail required.
  • Strong analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use various maintenance shop tools.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence. 
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. 
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting.
  • Ability to work individually and as a team.

Education & Experience 

  • General education degree (GED) and A.A.S. Degree, or technical training.
  • 3 to 5 years of responsible experience in mechanical equipment maintenance and repair, preferably in food manufacturing; or an acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience. 
  • Minimum of 2 years industrial pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical experience preferred. 
  • Prior experience in a GMP manufacturing environment is strongly preferred. 


Working Conditions

  •  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; risk of electrical shock; and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to occasionally loud.
  • Must be able to lift over 50 lbs. 
  • May be required to stand for long periods of time while performing duties. 
  • Must be able to work safely with materials and equipment. May work in enclosure spaces using required safety equipment.
  • Must be able to work overtime and flexible shifts. 
  • Must have the mental ability to make adjustments as necessary in a crisis.
